Little Sister and DS Big Brother are playing some weird game between their bedrooms (day time is LS's room, night is BB's room)
BB: are you an owl or a bat this time?
LS: I'm a who-man
BB: ok, that's a mammal, you can come in
LS: what if I'd said I was a owl?
BB: I would have said that was ok because they an fly
LS: you are so incon-sis-tent
BB: you mean fickle
LS: no, I meant what I said and I said what I meant.
BB: I thought you were a human?
LS: I am, but I can be like Horton too
BB: oh alright then. Now are you going to come in or not?
LS: not.

Growing Up in Post-quake Christchurch
Little Sister is building houses with blocks.
LS: this is my house. It's really, really big. It's got a roof and big, strong walls. It won't fall down. You haven't got a house. It fell down.
Me: Why did my house fall down?
LS: The diggers pulled it down. It was too broken when the earthquake happened. It went wobble, wobble, crack, fall. Then the diggers pulled the rest down. But it's ok, they will build you a new one.
Me: That's good, I'd be sad if I didn't have a house to live in.
LS: Well they'll only build it if you stay. You can't go and live in another place if you want them to build you a new house. You have to stay here and wait for your house.
Me: That's ok, I don't want to go anywhere else.
LS: That's ok then, they'll build you a house and they'll make it strong. But it won't be as big as mine. Mine was strong anyway.
<dog knocks LS's house over>
LS: (cries, then...) that doesn't count. It was only a dog quake. And it was only a block house not my real house.

Kindy Days Means... getting sick!
Little Sister has had four sessions at kindy and she is very happy to be there. Unfortunately she's been home this week because she picked up her first kindy illness too. After a couple of days lying on the couch
Today she felt well enough to be sad about missing kindy, so I thought she might like to play with my old My Little Ponies.
That's a lot of ponies, but a very happy girl!

Kindy Girl
Little Sister started a new phase in her life this week when she started kindy.
So far she loves going and asks each day if she can go to kindy to do some "work" today. Her favourite work is painting, swinging, sliding and gluing boxes together.
